Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education and the Foundational Principles
The five Sacred Heart Goals have been articulated to help define what a Sacred Heart institution, true to the inspiration of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat strives to do. Specific Criteria further define how the Goals are to be lived by all members of the school community--students, faculty, staff, administrators, and Religious. The first Goals and Criteria were published in 1975 and refined in 1990. In 2005, foundational principles were established to document the essential elements for being a Sacred Heart school, and the criteria were rearticulated.
