Introduction
The DASH Jr. Sports program sponsors athletic teams in the first through sixth grades. Sports include: Soccer, Basketball, Softball and Volleyball. The program relies solely on parent volunteers.
DASH Jr. Sports participates in the West Houston Christian Sports Association. The Association's motto is "Compassionately Competitive"; this reflects the desire to provide competitive athletics within a Christian framework where there is no room for a "win at all costs" approach. The emphasis is on playing, with a requirement that every child play in every game.
Games and Practices
Soccer, basketball and softball games will be held on Saturdays. Practices are on Sundays. At the discretion of the coach and parents, a team may have additional practices on Wednesday nights at Duchesne.
Volleyball games are held on Saturdays and Sundays, with practices held after school on weekdays.
Team Formation Please Read this paragraph carefully
Parents will be notified by email of each registration period prior to the opening of registration. Registrations will be taken on a first come/first served basis. Payments MUST be mailed to: Duchesne Academy, ATTN: Jr. Sports, 10202 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX, 77024. The time of registration will be recorded by the date on which the payment envelope is postmarked. ANY PAYMENTS NOT MAILED (WALK INS) WILL BE COUNTED AFTER ALL OF THE POSTMARKED PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN COUNTED. Registering on-line does not guarantee a spot on a roster, only when the payment is received is the registration counted as complete.
Rosters will be limited. In an effort to place everyone on a team, a player may be placed on a team in a higher or lower grade level. We cannot guarantee that your daughter will be placed on a team with a particular coach or player. If a player is not placed on a team, she will be placed on a waiting list. Grades may be combined to form one team.
Any registration received before or after the registration period will not be accepted.
