The CAVE Helpdesk is staffed by four adults and upper school students as one of their computer classes. This course is taught in the form of an internship rather than in a traditional classroom. Students are responsible on a daily schedule for staffing the CAVE (Computer Audio/Visual Emergencies)helpdesk. They are trained in the care and repair of desktop and laptop computers, printers, projection devices, and some network configurations following CompTIA's A+ curriculum guidelines. Members are required to attend a week long training workshop in August, and to assist with the laptop rollout for the new school year.
"CAVE girls" learn to evaluate and diagnose computer problems, make minor repairs or arrange for professional repair. They are also trained in regular maintenance of computer servicing including cleanings, adjustments, and how to apply updates, upgrades and necessary software patches.
The CAVE helpdesk follows the school calendar and will be open to students according to the following schedule:
