  Evaluation and Reporting

Report Cards indicating student achievement and performance are mailed to parents at the end of each quarter.  Reports will not be mailed if financial obligations have not been met.  Progress reports may be sent more frequently by a teacher to notify the parents of progress or of particularly poor work.  Parents are urged to request a conference with their daughter's teacher if they wish to discuss her academic performance.  Faculty members are available to meet with parents by appointment and may be contacted by email.

Letter grades, numerical grades, and quality points per credit unit equivalents are as follows:

 A+   97-100  4.3  C  75-76 2.0
 A   93-96  4.0   C-  73-74 1.7
 A-   90-92   3.7  D+   72 1.3
 B+  87-89    3.3   D  71 1.0
 B   83-86  3.0  D-  70 0.7
 B-  80-82  2.7  F  below 70 0.0
 C+   77-79      2.3

An additional 0.5 quality point is awarded at the semester for passing grades in all Advanced Placement courses and in Advanced Algebra II, Advanced Chemistry I, Chemistry II, Physics II, Advanced French IV, and Advanced Pre-Calculus.  Grade point averages (GPA's) are calculated each semester.  Points are awarded based upon numerical semester grades according to the scale shown above.  The sum of the points earned divided by the credits attempted determines the grade point average.  Summer school grades are not used in calculating the cumulative GPA, except for credit courses taken at Duchesne.   Those Summer School grades which are included in the cumulative GPA are rolled in at the end of the next academic semester.  Half credit courses that meet all year will receive a semester grade only at the end of second semester.  GPA's are computer generated to the third decimal.
