Courses are subject to change or cancellation due to insufficient enrollment.

A fee of $25 will be assessed for all classes that are changed after May 16, 2008.
Students are required to be in a summer course or in the Early Risers/Extended Day program while on campus. Students must be supervised at all times. Students are not allowed to wait in the library after a course is over or in between courses.
Payment Policy
DASH into Summer accepts checks or cash only. Please make all checks payable to Duchesne Academy. Please do not include summer payments with Duchesne school year tuition payments.
PLEASE NOTE: A separate check is required for each child who attends DASH into Summer. Please write your daughter’s name, as well as the session or sessions she is attending, in the memo section of the check.
Admission
Duchesne Academy admits girls of any race, color, religion, nationality and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded and available to students at the school. Duchesne Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational, admission or financial aid policies.
Cancellations and Refunds
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required with every registration application. Deposits will be refunded only if Duchesne cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment. No refund of the deposit or tuition will be made to any student who withdraws from all or part of a session or is dismissed from a session. All withdrawals require a parent/guardian written authorization. An 80% refund minus the $100 deposit will be given for withdrawals before May 16, 2008 and no refunds will be made after May 16, 2008, unless Duchesne cancels a class. Tuition must be paid in full by May 16, 2008. Any student who has not paid in full by May 16, 2008, will be dropped from the course.
Dress Code
Appropriate summer school attire is required. All students must wear shorts, T-shirts, socks and tennis shoes. No sandals or flip-flops please!
Early Risers/Extended Day
Students will meet in the Lower School library for Early Risers and Extended Day. Early Risers meet from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily. Extended Day is from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. Students must be picked up on time. After 6:00 p.m., parents will be charged $10 for every 10 minutes that your child stays late in Extended Day. The fee for Early Risers is $50 a week and for Extended Day is $75 a week. You may register for either of these on a weekly basis.
If an occasion arises that your child will need to be dropped off or picked up late one day, the fee will be $12/day for Early Risers and $15/day for Extended Day. This will need to be paid the same day.
Please include a separate check made out to Duchesne Academy and include "Early Risers" and/or "Extended Day" in the memo section.
Lunch
All students staying for afternoon camp activities are required to eat lunch in the cafeteria at noon. All other students must be picked-up promptly at noon in the Lower School circular drive. Students will need to bring a sack lunch. We have two microwaves in the cafeteria. There is no food service during the summer.
Student Responsibility
Duchesne Academy expects its students to maintain an honorable standard of behavior. Stealing, possession or use of alcohol, drugs or tobacco, cheating or dishonesty will result in a student’s dismissal. Duchesne also reserves the right to dismiss any student whose conduct is disruptive to her fellow classmates or to Duchesne. The Duchesne handbook of rules and responsibilities applies to the Summer Program and is available online. Click here for the Lower School Handbook, here for the Middle School Handbook and here for the Upper School Handbook.
Emergency Closing
In case of weather alerts and other emergencies, Duchesne Academy will follow the decision of the Houston Independent School District regarding the closing of school. Local radio stations carry this information; calls should not be directed to the school or White House. Tune to KTRH (740 AM) and Channel 2 KPRC. Please note that there are no refunds for days the camp is closed due to the weather.
Academic Credit
Credit courses are demanding academically and the schedule is rigorous. Perfect attendance is required. Credit will not be awarded to students who miss one (1) class period. Grade reports will be issued at the end of the course. The final grade for the course will be mailed to the students and to their home schools. If a student withdraws from a credit course after a class has begun, the withdrawal and the withdrawal grade will be noted on the student’s permanent record. Withdrawals require a parent’s written authorization.
