The techniques learned in this class will help you to practice monologues on your own, a useful skill to have when auditioning for school plays and other shows. Scene work is a fun chance to act with a partner, another important skill to have. You will have the chance to showcase your growth in a performance of the monologues and scenes at the end of each session (All material worked on in class is age appropriate.) Everyday we'll start with a warm-up and stretches that will increase your flexibility, move on to center and across-the-floor exercises to improve your coordination, and end each class with a fun jazz or hip hop routine to put it all together. The goal of this class is to give you a foundation in jazz dance that will allow you to grow to be a more advanced, confident dancer, and most important, to have FUN while you improve.
