Evaluation and Reporting of Academic Progress
Quizzes, tests, oral recitation, discussion, projects, other activities, and homework can be used as the basis for student evaluation reports.
Evaluation of academic progress is reported six times a year. Trimester reports are mailed to parents in November, March and June, and a day is set aside twice a year for parent/teacher conferences. In addition, mid-term progress reports are completed by the teachers and mailed to parents in October, January, and April. These serve as a communication to the parents at the mid-point of the trimester and do not go on the student's permanent record.
This school abides by the provisions of the Buckley amendment with respect to the rights of non-custodial parents. In the absence of a court order to the contrary, the school will provide the non-custodial parent with access to the academic records and to the other school related information regarding the child. If there is a court order specifying that there is to be no information given, it is the responsibility of the custodial parent to provide the school with an official copy of the court order. Report cards are sent to the parents listed on the yearly registration papers.
At any time during the year if parents wish to discuss their daughter's progress, they are encouraged to contact teachers by telephone during the school day, or parents may request a conference. Teachers are to be contacted only at school, and parents must first schedule an appointment before coming for a conference with a teacher.
