Required Summer Reading (Grades 5-8)

The English teachers prepare and distribute a summer reading list and a related assignment.  Its completion is required by the first day of school and is part of the first trimester grade.  Students new to Duchesne are also expected to complete summer reading requirements which can be accessed on the Duchesne website.

Summer Tutoring

All students with a final D or F average in any given subject are required to complete a minimum of ten hours of summer study in that subject in order to be readmitted in fall.  (Some summer courses can be substituted with approval of the Head.)  A report from the tutor or program must be sent to the Middle School Office prior to the first day of school.  Re-admittance of students with more than one D or F average will be reviewed by the school.
