Renaissance Book Fair was held on October 16 and 17 at Barnes & Noble in Town & Country and raised more than $9,000 for the libraries at Duchesne.  A special thanks to Chairs Catherine Langlois and Zeina Fares alongside Co-Chairs Kim Pignuolo and Cecilia Devetski and Gift Table Coordinator Laura George for orchestrating the highly-attended event.

As a field trip, Lower School and Middle School students came to the Book Fair to purchase books on October 16.  As each came and left with a book, there were plenty of smiles abound.  That evening students returned for the Grandparent and Special Friend Tea where author Deborah Blumenthal presented her book "Aunt Claire’s Yellow Beehive Hair."  The presentation was followed by a photo opportunity on the throne!

On October 17, Family Fun Night brought more than 500 attendees to celebrate.  Many girls came in costume and were enthralled by the night’s events, such as a juggler, a King and Queen’s procession, crafts, photos, and presentations by Duchesne Uncensored, Reader’s Theater, Middle School students and an art student.  Parents will admit that getting their children to leave was quite the obstacle with all the fun activities to be found in each corner of the store.

While Renaissance Book Fair will long be remembered by Duchesne girls as a step back in time to the days of Lords, Ladies, and Princesses, it will also be remembered as an event that generated even more passion for reading in the lives of hundreds of Duchesne girls.  That is true success!
